ME Project

Driving Question: How can I use self-reflection and my smarts to set goals and adopt a growth mindset in 4th grade?

Hager Products: Best Part of Me picture and poem, stamp name, math identity, and a cultural art project.

Tubach Products: Where I'm From Poem, Personal Coat-of-arms, personal emotions product based on the Pixar film Inside Out. Students will select three emotions (joy, anger, sadness, fear, envy, embarrassment, anxiety) and tell a personal story related to it. Next, they will use their creativity to create a writing or art product which tells the story to an audience or peers and adults. They will choose from products such a written narrative, a letter, a poem, watercolor art, a cartoon or comic strip, a video -- link via QR code, or another creative idea.

Spencer Products: Learning modalities, growth mindset, personal character traits, and a special product that explains your "smarts," and goals for 4th grade. This product can be your choice, since it's all about you! Some examples include: a piece of publishable writing, a poster, Google Slides, a website, a sculpture, a scrapbook, a podcast, a movie or any combination of these! The possibilities are endless. It is up to YOU!

Your product should include the following: learning style/modality (kinds of "smarts"), an academic strength, outside Interests and 4th grade goals (one for each "class" Hager, Spencer and Tubach).

We can't wait to see what you come up with! After you complete the project, you should, at any time, be able to tell me something like "I am nature smart because I understand animal life and I enjoy gardening. I'm also word smart because I comprehend almost everything that I read and I like to express myself using words. My goals in 4th grade are to read a variety of literary genres (not just fantasy) and manage my time wisely so that I can complete projects on time and with enthusiasm." In other words, you must know your goals, as well as your strengths. You will be using this for the remainder of the year, and beyond!

Our students will create a personal coat-of-arms, to display their family name, a special place in California, favorite animal from California, a passion, something EXTRA , and a personal motto. The order does not matter.
